BEIJING - The responsibility for guarding China's national flag and firing salute cannons will be transferred to the Chinese People's Liberation Army starting Jan 1, 2018, as authorized by the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
北京消息，党中央批准，自2018年1月1日起由人民解放军担负国旗护卫和礼炮鸣放任务。
【讲解】
guard China's national flag是国旗护卫；fire salute cannons是礼炮鸣放；Chinese People's Liberation Army是中国人民解放军。
2018年1月1日7时36分，天安门广场（Tian'anmen Square）升国旗仪式（the national flag rising ceremony），首次由人民解放军仪仗队（Guard of Honor）和军乐团（military band）执行（conduct）。
届时，中央人民广播电台（China National Radio）、中央电视台（China Central Television）、中国国际广播电台（China Radio International）以及多家门户网站（web portals）将进行全程直播（live broadcast）。
此前，这一仪式由武警（armed police）天安门国旗护卫队执行。
